What is a NOUN? A noun is a person, place or thing, or an idea. EXAMPLE: a cat, boy, girl, mirror, computer. Love, wisdom, happiness (ideas)
What is an ADJECTIVE? Adjectives describe, or give more information about nouns (person, place or thing). EXAMPLE: important, confident, small, red, blue... ITALIAN meatballs, PURPLE crayon
What is a VERB? A verb describes and action, occurrence or state of being. EXAMPLE: run, jump, sing (action); emerge, develop, dance (occurrence); am, is, are (state of being)
Which is noun? The car ran a stop sign. CAR
Which is the adjective? The purple flower is blooming. PURPLE
Which is the verb? The fish swims in the ocean. SWIMS
Which is the noun? The teapot is whistling. teapot
Which is the adjective? The silly baby is making funny faces. silly and funny are both adjectives.
Which is the verb? We are feeling sick. are
Which is the noun? Our happiness is very important. Happiness
Which is the verb? The bear emerged from his cave. Emerged
