| Term | Definition |

| Represent | communicate a mathematical concept using pictures, diagrams, models, symbols, or algebraic notation; can be verbal, graphic, algebraic, or numeric. |
| Show | demonstrate what you intend to explain |
| Solve | find a value we can put in place of a variable that makes the equation true |
| Subtract | take one numerical quantity (subtrahend) from another quantity (minuend) to get one numerical value called a difference; with like terms, take one from the other to get one numerical factor times the variable. |
| Understand | ability to comprehend, perceive, and make sense of mathematical knowledge |
| Use | organize abstract objects, methods, theories and theorems to solve problems |
| Verify | show a mathematical concept is accurate or true |
| Write | use math symbols and words to describe ideas, explain context, and interpret the results of a math problem |
