RVSM/RNP

RVSM

QuestionAnswer
BOM/RVSM: The letter W in the flight plan, in field 10 digit stands for ? RVSM
BOM/RVSM: RVSM stands for? Reduced Vertical Separation Minimum
BOM/RVSM: RVSM is divided in to 2 categories 1. General procedures valid in any RVSM airspace 2. Procedures specific to a certain airspace
BOM/FCOM2/RVSM: Requirement for RVSM ops 1 transponder, 2 ADR (standard QNH,within 200ft), 1 FWC, 2 PFD, 1 AP, FCU (for target altitude selection), (TAF-PAF)
BOM/RVSM: when within RVSM airspace, AP - ?, altitude overshoot limit off ? and a OM Max deviation of - ?, every hour check indications within ? on all times, 150ft, 300ft, 200ft
BOM/RVSM: ATC must be informed if ? (5) 1. failure or both AP 2. Loss of altimeter redundancy 3. Discrepancy of altitude indications without a means to determine which is valid 4. severe turbulence 5. abnormal situations preventing maintenance of assigned altitude
FCOM2/RVSM: RVSM flight levels with a separation of ? FL290 to FL410 / 1,000ft
FCOM2/RVSM: while on the ground, the crew must check that the ADR1 and 2 altitude indications on the PFD do not differ from the airport elevation by more than ? Also check on the flight plan that the letter ? is in it 75ft (when compared to the airport QNH) note: 1hP = 27ft / W = aircraft is RVSM capable
RVSM procedure for equipment failure with no communication? instead of 300ft like in weather deviation without comms, use 500ft
RVSM comms: Are you RVSM approve? (ATC) Affirm RVSM / Negative RVSM
RVSM comms: If flight cannot maintain RVSM Unable RVSM due to : turbulence or weather or equipment failure
RVSM comms: If flight is now ok to fly RVSM again Ready to resume RVSM or Report able to resume RVSM
BOM/RNP: What does RNP stand for? Required Navigation Performance - performance based navigation. Requires alert sensing equipment and accurate flying within RNPXX airspaces
BOM/RNP: Goal of RNP? Basic Navaids mandate large safetly margins that saturate the airspace, the use of RNAV and glass cockpit minimize margins, accomodate more traffic and save fuel via direct track without flying over radio navaids
BOM/RNP: Defn, airspace, routes where RNP has been established. Aircraft must meet or exceed these qualifications RNP Airspace
BOM/RNP: Defn, RNP-X, X means? This must be met with a probability of ? accuracy in nm, 95%
FCOM2: In order to match the RNP, the FMS must have an accuracy of ? on the prog page / If GPS is available do we need to check the accuracy? Why? Required (RNP) =/> Estimated Position Error (EPE) on the MCDU/Prog. / No need to check / It is an RNAV flight not dependent on radio navaids
FCOM2/FCTM: When GPS not available and accuracy of FMS/MCDU/PROG is low during the cruise, this means that ? during an approach? Required (RNP) < Estimated Position Error (EPE), cross check, if within 3nm, use Nav and managed lateral guidance or (if greater than 3nm error) fly raw data / limit is 1nm
FCOM3: RNP performance capability Upate with *****FCOM 3 general limitations**** AP/FD on ...etc
BOM: Navigation position error limit 95% of flight time accurate (5% error limit per flight time)
BOM: RNP-10 with IRS only time limit? 6.2 hours
BOM: equipment conditions to enter RNP airspace 2 FMGC / 2 MCDU / 2 IRS / 1 GPS (FMIG)
FCOM2: If RNP is entered manually on the Required section of the Prog page, to return the default setting? It must be re-entered manually
FCOM2: FMS1/FMS2 pos diff or Check IRS pos or FM/GPS pos disagree Use the AP with the navigation correct or if unable to determine which system is correct, then fly raw data
RVSM Levels standard unless stated are: 310, 320, 350, 360, 390,400
If no communication is available, how to deviate from track due to weather? Within 10nm, turn left or right, no altitude change, outside of 10nm, East, Left, descend 300ft, right, climb, 300ft, West, Left, Climb 300ft, right, descent 300ft. Turn on all lights, transmit on frequency 121.5 on deviation, relay to other aircraft info
To get priority due to weather, the call on RVSM is? Cebu XXX weather deviation request
Volmet can be received via ? HF radio
