| Intrigue | To make someone very interested or curious; a secret plan. |
| Rasp | A tool used to smooth rough surfaces; a rough, scratchy sound. |
| Ironic | When something happens that is the opposite of what you expect. |
| Overwhelming | Too much to handle; very strong or intense. |
| Jeer | To make fun of or mock someone; a mean or rude comment. |
| Palpable | Something so strong or clear that you can almost feel it. |
| Inconvenience | Something that causes trouble or makes things harder; to bother someone. |
| Distraught | Very upset or worried. |
| Apprehensive | Feeling nervous or worried about what might happen. |
| Wheedle | To try to get something by being nice or flattering someone. |
| Sift | To sort through something carefully; to separate small things from bigger things. |
| Defiant | Boldly resisting or going against something. |
| Disposition | A person's usual mood or personality; how someone usually feels or behaves. |
| Supplementary | Extra or added to help or complete something. |
| Sympathetic | Understanding and caring about how someone else feels. |
| Capacity | The amount something can hold or how much you can do. |
| Prominent | Important or easy to notice. |
| Adequate | Good enough for what is needed; enough. |
| Transgression | Breaking a rule or doing something wrong. |
| Aptitude | A natural talent or ability for doing something well. |
| Appeal | A request for help or support; something that is attractive or interesting. |
| Chastisement | Punishment or a scolding. |
| Self-conscious | Feeling nervous or uncomfortable about how you look or act. |
| Petulant | Cranky or in a bad mood over small things. |
| Remorse | Feeling sorry and guilty for something you did wrong. |
| Bewilderment | A state of being confused or puzzled. |
| Nondescript | Not interesting or special; plain and ordinary. |
| Mystified | Completely confused or puzzled. |
| Conviction | A strong belief in something; when someone is found guilty of a crime. |
| Reflective | Thinking carefully about something; thoughtful. |
| Solemn | Serious and earnest; not happy or playful. |
| Invariably | Always; happening every time without change. |
| Gravitate | To move or be drawn toward something. |
| Tabulate | To arrange information into tables or charts. |
| Serene | Calm, peaceful, and not worried. |
