Bar Graph | A form of graph in which numeric values are represented by horizontal or vertical rectangles. |
Circle Graph | A data display that uses pieces of a circle to show parts of a whole |
Stem and Leaf Plot | A system used to condense a set of data where the greatest place value of the data forms the stem and the next greatest place value forms the leaves. |
Dot Plot | a graphical display of data using dots |
Histogram | A graph of vertical bars representing the frequency of a set of data in a certain range |
Mean | the arithmetic average of a set of data, obtained by adding the scores and then dividing by the number of scores |
Median | the middle score in a set of data; half the scores are above it and half are below it |
Mode | the most frequently occurring score(s) in a set of data |
Quartiles | Values that divide a data set into four equal parts |
Box and Whisker Plot | a diagram that summarizes data using the median, the upper and lower quartiles, and the extreme values |
Deviation | How far away a set of data varies from the mean (average) |
Standard Deviation | a computed measure of how much scores vary around the mean score |
