Isotope Symbols

TermDefinition
What does "A" represent in isotope notation? Mass number (number of protons + neutrons)
What does "Z" represent in isotope notation? Atomic number (number of protons)
What does "X" represent in isotope notation? Element symbol
Proton (p⁺) Positively charged particle found in the nucleus
Electron (e⁻) Negatively charged particle found outside the nucleus
Neutron (n⁰) Neutral particle found in the nucleus
