| Semantics | Study of meaning- Example: Makeup could mean the beauty product or you have a test to "makeup". |

| Simultaneous Bilinguals | 2+ languages from birth- "When Caleb started talking he could say hello in English and Spanish" |
| Sequential Bilinguals | first language from birth, learned second language around PK- "Caleb grew up speaking Spanish at home and has sensed started learning English in PK" |
