Data Displays and Number Systems

TermDefinition
Data Information that is gathered by counting, measuring, questing, or observings.
Statistics The study of numerical data: collecting, orginzing, and analizing data to interpret it and answer questions.
Variability How spread out the values in a set of data are.
Statstical Question A question that wouldd be anwsered by collecting or analizing data.
Range The diffrence between the maximum and the minimum in a data set the it is a measure of how spread out a distribution.
Dot Plot a number line long enough to encompass all numbers in a sample, showing a dot over the position corresponding to each number.
Maximum a number line long enough to encompass all numbers in a sample, showing a dot over the position corresponding to each number.
Distribution the distribution of data typically takes into account the range and spread of a data set.
Mode a type of average.
