TermDefinition
Descriptive Explains characteristics of the topic using sensory and figurative language. It can tell about the physical make up, when and where it come into being or what it might be used for
Compare and Contrast Shows similarities and differences between objects or idea.
Sequential A way to show the order in which something should be done. Could be a recipe, directions how something is formed.
Chronological A way of showing the order in which something happens. Uses dates, and times. It has to happen in that order.
Cause and Effect This suggests why something is as it is or answers questions about what happens when or as a result of something else.
Problem and Solution The details will explain something that is wrong and one or more ways to fix or overcome that which is wrong.
