Potential and Kinetic Energy plus the 8 energy forms

What is Potential Energy? Energy that is stored in an object because of its position or state
What is Kinetic Energy? Energy in action - brings about a change
What is HEAT energy? Energy something has because of its temperature
What is LIGHT energy? Electromagnetic radiation carried by waves
What is SOUND energy? Energy carried by sound waves
What is CHEMICAL energy? Potential for a substance to react and transform
What is GRAVITATIONAL energy? Energy stored in objects in position to fall
What is MOTION energy? Energy found in moving objects
What is ELECTRICAL energy? Energy provided by electrical charges
What is ELASTIC energy? Energy stored in stretchy or compressed objects
Which energy form changes into energy in motion when objects fall? Gravitational energy
The higher the temperature, the more of this energy form an object has. Heat energy
Which form of energy allows us to hear? Sound energy
What is the difference between potential energy (stored energy) and kinetic energy (energy in action)? Energy in action (kinetic) is in motion and brings change, and stored energy (potential) is available to make things happen, but is not bringing change at that moment.
What kind of energy to potato chips contain? Chemical energy
What kind of energy allows you to hear a dog barking? Sound energy
