Words of the Week 13

TermDefinition
brace (noun) a device to hold a weak or injured part of the body. "She wore a neck brace for a week after the accident."
twice (adverb) two times. "The pills should be taken twice a day."
trace (verb) draw over a drawing on a transparent paper. "I want to trace the boat you drew."
pencil (noun) writing tool made of charcoal. "I need a pencil to write my name on the paper."
circus (noun) a group of entertainers that travel to different places and perform in a large tent. "The circus is in the city until next week."
cycle (noun) a series of events that are repeated in the same order over and over. "When people die, it is part of the cycle of life."
icy (adjective) covered with or consisting of ice. "There were icy patches on the road."
change (verb) make something or someone different. "I want to change my hairstyle this week."
orange (noun) round juicy citrus fruit. "She had an orange as a snack."
danger (noun) the possibility of suffering harm or injury. "You could be in danger if you cross that bridge."
fragile (adjective) easily broken or damaged. "Careful with that glass because it is very fragile."
giant (adjective) something extremely big. "That is a giant apple!"
giraffe (noun) four legged animal with a very long neck. "We saw a giraffe at the zoo."
energy (noun) power from using resources like light or heat. "It is very dangerous to deal with nuclear energy."
stingy (adjective) use or spend very little. "The landlord is so stingy; he refused to pay for new carpets."
