Regents Vocabulary Words

TermDefinition
stanza A verse in a poem.
imply To make someone think that something is true without saying it directly.
illustrate To give or be an example that makes something clearer.
primary The first or highest in order or in importance. mainly
statement Something that is said; the communication of an idea; a single sentence.
narrator A person who tells the story of events; adds spoken commentary to the story, film, tv show
depict To describe someone or something using words, a story
details Attention to a subject in individual or small parts.
reinforce To give added strength, added support, added emphasis
passage A portion or section of a written work (part of a book); a paragraph, or verse (in a poem).
