French and Indian War The name of the war that took place before the American Revolution
Stamp Act This required all paper used in the colonies to have a special stamp on it, which cost money
Boston Tea Party The colonists reacted to the Tea Act with this event throwing tea into the Boston Harbor
American Revolution Tensions between the British and the colonists led to this event
Boston Massacre This event was a street fight that broke out and 7 colonists were killed
Cause of the Revolution The British expected the colonists to pay for the debt from the French and Indian War
Grievances Complaints involving unfair treatment
Loyalist The British people who were loyal to King George III
Patriot The colonists who wanted independence from Great Britain
Minutemen Young colonial militiamen who were ready to fight at a minute's notice
