Myth of Danae Danae is impregnated by Zeus and has Perseus while imprisioned who acording to the Oracle was going to kill Acrisisus so that is why he throws them ina wood coffin to the Ocean but are saved by Dictys and Perseus does kill Acrisius
Myth of the Furies The Furies are 3 sister who punish people who go against natural law, ex: incest (Aecto), infedelity (Megara), and fratricide or the killing of anyone (Tisiphone), as well as breaking promises.They turture people in the underworld, and are ugly.
Myth of Dryas and Lycurgus Dryas is killed by his mad father Lycurgus who confused him with a trunk of Ivy, a sacred plant to Dyionisus whose followers he tried to exterminate. Because of his sin the land goes dry and they have to kill him to get rid of the Curse
Myth of the abduction of Persephone Persephone is kidnaped by the Hades making the land go Dry because Demeter is sad. Zues demand Hades to return Persephone but she is tricked into eating 6 pomegrate seeds and now has to return every 6 months
Myth of Tantalus Tantalus stone nectar and ambriosa to give it to his people and tell the gods secrets. He kills his son and offer it to the gods which Demeter took a bite of. He is brought to the underworld as a punishemdt were he will always be hungry and thristy.
Myth of Dirce Dirce enslaves Antiope and mistreats her, Antiopes sons who were abandodne by Antiope who fled because of the shame of being impregnated by Zeus tie Dirce to a bull to kill her
Myth of Niobe Niobe has 14 children who the people boast about unlike Lato who has less children, so Apollo and Artemis ( Latos children) kill all of Niobes kid, she was so sad that she fled to mount Sipylis and turned into stone as she wept
Myth of Phineus connection To show how Cleo and Antigone are both putt into a cave and have to die even if the do not deserve it.
Myth of Danae connection To show how Antigone is imprisioned unjustly, like Danae who did not have control over her situation, and antigone who only followed the god;s rules. Also to show how Creon, Oedipus, and Acrisius tried to avoid fate but could not (fate is inevtable)
Myth of the Furies connection To show how Antigone is paying the for Oedipus sin (incest) as her wrethced daughter, and how Creon is going to be punished for breaking the Promise he did to Oedipus of protection his children
Myth of Dryas and Lycurgus connection To show how Creon felt more powerful than the gods by putting his law above their like lycurgus, and foreshadows Creons punishement of his hubris
Myth of the abduction of Persephone To show how Antigone says she is going to actually die and reuinite with his father in the underworld
Myth of Tantalus To show how Creons actiona have negative repercussions, because he killed Antigone and made Hamon kill himself he is punished just like Tantalus
Myth of Dirce To show how unjust Antigone situation is and how Creon need to be punished just like Dirce for his unjust law
Myth of Niobe To show Antigones sorrow of loosing her family, but also for not being able to marry and have children
