| what to do when there is a break failure | pump breaks hard, use emergency/parking brake, turn on hazard lights, call for help |
| what to do when there is tire blowout | grip the steering wheel, gradually slow down, don't use brakes, take foot off of gas, call for help once vehicle has pulled into shoulder |

| if you refuse a breath test... | $1,000 fine for 3 years = driving with a BAC of .10% |
| ignition interlock device | device attached to the steering wheel with a built in breathalyzer, the car will not start if the motorist's BAC exceeds .05% |
| driver improvement program | if you accumulate 12-14 points in 2 years you must complete this program; 3 points will be removed if completed; after you will be on probation for a year |
| defensive driving program | 2 points are deducted after completion |
| probationary driver program | if you have a permit or provisional license and are convicted for 2 or more moving violations/4 or more points in a period; 3 points will be deducted if successfully completed |
| if you receive 6 or more points in 3 years or less... | you will get an insurance surcharge of $150 for 6 points and $25 for any additional point |
