Macbeth Act 4 Quiz

2. What is Macbeth's last question to the witches? How do the witches answer him? Explain the vision he sees. Will Banquo's sons reign in this kingdom? The witches show Banquo pointing at 8 kings in a row, with the last king holding a mirror that shows many generations of kings to come.
3. What happens to Lady Macduff and her child? They are murdered.
4. How does Malcolm compare himself to Macbeth? (List all the reasons Malcolm gives Macduff.) Why does he do this? He says he is worse than Macbeth because he is lustier, greedier, and has no kingly qualities. He is testing Macduff's loyalty.
5. Why does Macbeth visit the witches again? He was becoming more dependent on their prophecies.
6. How does Macbeth feel as a result of his visit to the witches? He feels more secure and invincible.
7. Was Macbeth's second meeting with the witches purely accidental? No. Macbeth planned on seeking them out.
8. Did the apparitions leave Macbeth with the impression that no one could harm him? Yes. He feels invincible.
9. Does the show of 8 kings represent Macbeth's descendents? No. They show Banquo's descendents.
