| Term | Definition |

| vertex | The point at which two line segments connect |
| obtuse angle | angle between 90 and 180 degrees |
| acute angle | angle between 0 and 90 degrees |
| right | angle that is exactly 90 degrees |
| straight | angle that is exactly 180 degrees |
| vertical angles | two angles that are opposite each other formed by the intersection of two lines |
| congruent angles | two angles that have the same measurement |
| adjacent angles | two angles with a common line and vertex |
| complementary angles | two angles with a sum of 90 degrees |
| supplementary angles | two angles with a sum of 180 degrees |
| acute triangle | triangle with three acute angles |
| obtuse triangle | triangle with one obtuse angle |
| right triangle | triangle with one 90 degree angle |
| scalene triangle | triangle with three unequal sides |
| isosceles triangle | triangle with two equal sides |
| equilateral triangle | triangle with three equal sides |
| ray | a line with a point at one end and an arrow at the other end |
