| irrigation | water that is used to help crops grow, normally by humans like a sprinkler or hose system |
| fertilizer | a chemical substance added to soil to provide nutrients to plants so they can grow |
| contamination | pollution continually being put into water making it unsafe to drink |
| industrial waste | pollution that comes specifically from factories and machines with unsafe chemicals for humans or animals to consume |
| continuum | a line that represents where all countries fall somewhere between being purely market or purely command |
| infrastructure | the organization of buildings and roads within a city |
| Voluntary trade | free and unregulated trading of goods between two countries who chose to work together |
| standard of living | how much wealth and material goods that one has to represent their quality of life |
| inflation | an increase in prices over a period of time due to economic changes |
| agriculture | farming or growing crops in a certain area, can also refer to livestock as well |
| protective tariff | a tax on imports to raise their price, making them less attractive to consumers. |
| international aid | Money, goods and services given by the government of one country to help another country. |
| investors | a person or organization that puts money into property with the expectation of achieving a profit. |
| real investment | The purchase of assets such as land, real estate, and machines |
| debt relief | Reducing the principal and/or interest payments on loans |
| barter | Trading without money either citizen to citizen or country to country |
