| Coordinates | the numbers of an ordered pair that locate a point on the Cartesian Coordinate plane |
| Distance | the length between two points |
| Inequality | a mathematical sentence that shows the relationship between quantities that are not equal |
| Integer | a member of the set of whole numbers and their opposites |
| Magnitude | the measurement or absolute value of a quantity represented by a positive real number |
| Negative Numbers | numbers less than zero |
| Opposite | a number that is an equal distance from zero on a number line in the opposite direction |
| Ordered Pair | a pair of numbers that can be used to locate a point on a coordinate plane |
| Origin | the point where the x-axis and y-axis intersect on the Cartesian Coordinate plane; (0,0) |
| Polygon | a closed plane figure formed by three or more line segments |
| Positive Numbers | numbers greater than zero |
| Quadrants | the four regions created by the intersection of the x- and y-axes of the Cartesian Coordinate Plane |
| Rational Number | a number that can be written in the form , where a and b are integers and b |
| Sign | a mathematical symbol used to define an integer’s value as positive or negative |
| x-axis | the horizontal axis of the Cartesian Coordinate Plane |
| x-coordinate | the first number in an ordered pair; it tells the distance to move right or left from the origin |
| y-axis | the horizontal axis of the Cartesian Coordinate Plane |
| y-coordinate | the second number in an ordered pair; it tells the distance to move up or down from the origin |
