TDA vocabulary
| Term | Definition |

| Text Dependent | Refers to the information or evidence that comes directly from the text you are analyzing. |
| Analyze | To examine something closely and break it down into smaller parts to understand it better. |
| RACE | Restate, Answer, Cite, Explain. RACE is a strategy used to respond to comprehension questions. |
| Thesis | The main point or argument you make in your writing. It should clearly state your interpretation of the text's meaning |
| Details | Specific pieces of information from the text that support your analysis or response. These can include descriptions, examples, and quotes. |
| Evidence | Proof from the text that supports your thesis or main points. It can be direct quotes, specific events, or facts from the reading. |
| Support | The act of backing up your claim or thesis statement with evidence and details from the text. |
| Closure | Bringing your writing to a closing, writing a satisfying conclusion. |
| Explain | To make something clear or understandable |
| Irrelevant Details | Pieces of information that do not contribute to the main idea of thesis of your analysis. |
| Relevant Details | Specific pieces of information from the text to support your thesis. |
| Transitions | Words or phrases that connect different parts of your writing smoothly. |
