| Race | Restate, answer, cite, explain, race is a strategy used to respond to comprehension questions. |
| Thesis | The main point or argument you make in your writing |
| Details | Specific pieces of information from the text that support your analysis or response. these can include descriptions, examples, and quotes. |
| Evidence | Proof from the text that supports your thesis or main points. It can be direct quotes, specific events, or facts from reading. |
| Closure | Bring your writing to a closing writing a satisfying conclusion. |
| Explain | To make something clear or understandable |
| irrelevant details | Pieces of information that do not contribute to the main idea or thesis of your analysis. |
| Relevant Details | Specific pieces of information from the text to support your thesis. |
| Transitions | Words or phrases that connect different parts of your writing smoothly. |
