TDA

TermDefinition
Text Dependent Refers to the information or evidence that comes directly from the text you are analyzing.
Analyze To examine something closely, and break it down into smaller parts to understand it better.
RACE Restate, Answer, Cite, Explain. RACE is a strategy used to respond to comprehension questions.
Thesis The main point or argument you make in your writing . It should clearly state your interpretation of the text's meaning.
Details Specific pieces of information from the text that support your analysis or response. These can include descriptions, examples, and quotes.
Evidence Proof from the text that supports your thesis or main point.It can be direct quotes, specific events, or facts from the reading.
Support The act of backing up your claim or thesis statement with evidence and details from the text .
Explain To make something clear or understandable.
Irrelevant Details Pieces of information that do not contribute to the main idea or thesis of your analysis.
Transitions Specific pieces of information from the text to supports your thesis.
Closure Bringing your writing to a closing, writing a satisfying conclusion.
