acute angle an angle that measures more than 0 degrees and less than 90 degrees
point an exact location
vertex the point where 2 rays, lines, or line segments touch and create an angle
line a straight row of points that continues forever in both directions
ray a line that begins at 1 point and continues in a single direction
perpendicular lines lines that cross to form 90 degree angles
parallel lines lines that are the same distance apart and never touch
obtuse angle an angle that measures more than 90 degrees, but less than 180 degrees
line segment part of a line that connects 2 points with a beginning and end
right angle an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees and looks like a square (corner)
angle formed when 2 rays, lines, or line segments meet at the same point
protractor a tool measure angles
degree a unit used for measuring angles
equilateral triangle a triangles with 3 (all) equal side lengths and all angles 60 degrees
isosceles triangle a triangle that has 2 sides of equal length
obtuse triangle a triangle with 1 obtuse angle (btwn 90-180)
acute triangle a triangle with 3 acute angles (less than 90 degrees)
polygon a 2D shape made of straight lines that connect (ex. triangle, quadrilateral, etc.)
scalene triangle a triangle that has no sides of equal length
trapezoid (inclusive) a quadrilateral with 1 or more pairs of parallel sides
trapezoid (exclusive) a quadrilateral with exactly 1 pair of parallel sides
triangle a polygon with 3 sides and 3 angles
hexagon a 6-sided polygon with straight sides and 6 angles
line of symmetry an imaginary line where you fold a shape in half and both sides are an exact match
