| Apex | The point farthest from the base |
| Base | The face of a solid that is used to name the solid |
| Cone | A solid figure with a circle as it s base and a curved surface that meets at a point |
| Cylinders | A figure containing two congruent, parallel, circular bases whose edges are connected by a perpendicular curved surface |
| Edge | In a figure, the segment or curve where two faces intersect |
| Equilateral triangle | A triangle with 3 equal-length sides and equal angles. |
| Acute Triangle | A triangle with all interior angles smaller than 90 degrees |
| Square | A quadrilateral with four right angles and 4 equal length sides. It is also classified as a polygon, quadrilateral, parallelogram, rectangle, and rhombus |
| Trapezoid | A quadrilateral with AT LEAST one pair of parallel sides. It is also a polygon and quadrilateral. |
| Triangle | A polygon with exactly 3 sides and 3 angles |
| Triangular prism | A prism with triangular bases |
| .Triangular pyramid | A pyramid with triangular base |
| Vertex | The point at which the edges of a 3-D shape meet. |
| Rectangle | A quadrilateral containing 4 right angles. It is also a polygon, quadrilateral, and trapezoid |
| Rectangular prism | A prism with rectangular bases. |
| Rectangular pyramid | A pyramid with a rectangular base. |
| Rhombus | A quadrilateral containing 4 equal-length sides. It is also a polygon, quadrilateral, trapezoid, and parallelogram. |
| Right triangle | A triangle with a right angle. Also called a square angle, or 90 degree angle |
| Scalene triangle | A triangle containing 3 UNequal sides and 3 unequal angles |
| Sphere | A 3-D figure with 1 face and no base |
| Face | A flat or curved surface of a solid figure |
| Isosceles triangle | A triangle containing AT LEAST two equal length sides. |
| Obtuse triangle | A triangle containing one interior angle larger than 90 degrees |
| Paralellogram | A quadrilateral containing two pars of parallel sides. Also a polygon and quadrilateral. |
| Prisms (right) | A figure with 2 parallel bases that re the same size and shape. The bases are connected by rectangular faces that re perpendicular to the bases. A box with identical polygons on each end. |
| Pyramids (regular) | A figure containing a polygon base and triangular faces. The triangular faces have the same size and shape and they connect the sides of the base to a common point called the apex. |
| Quadrilateral | A polygon with exactly 4 sides and 4 vertices. |
