PUC

Pierce Ultimate Configuration

QuestionAnswer
REPTO Drive HP & Torque 240 HP & 480 ft pounds torque
REPTO pump impeller engagement High capacity electric clutch with own fluid supply.
Pressure governor minimum & maximum psi 45-300 psi
Governor operates by adusting speed of impellers to maintain set pressure. Prevents pressure surges and increases RPMs as necessary. Pressure transducers on discharge side of pump send signal to ECM.
Pierce Governor Model FRC PMA 300
Running Away from Water Discharge pressure drops governor increases RPMs to maintain pressure setting. If unable to maintain pressure, will switch to RPM Limit and flash RPMs
RPM Limit Mode RPM LED & RPM flash on governor. "Operator/RPM Limit". PRessure will not change. If pressure >45 psi operates as manual throttle.
Low Water Cycle PDP 15-45 psi "LO WATER" sets engine at 1100 RPM. If pressure does not get above 45 psi in 7 seconds, engine set to IDLE. Repeasts as long as pressure 15-45 psi. Returns to normal above 45 psi.
No water mode PDP <15 psi, RPM at IDLE, "NO WATER". If no increase in pressure above 15 psi in 3 minutes, goes to IDLE. Will enter low water cycle if >15 psi in 3 minutes
Tank Dry Air in pump sensed. Increases RPMs, if PDP <45 psi, RPM set at 1100 & will go to idle when PDP <15 psi. Must push and hold control mode to resure pressure mode. If air in pump, will limit RPM, will increase RPM, not pressure.
E05 on RPM Display No pressure transducer operating. Switch to RPM mode, notify captain and evacuate.
PUC Transmission Maintenance Has internal lubrication pump with forced lubrication (cools, filters and distributes fluid). Has heat exchanger, cooler and filter. Use PUC Extreme Performance Lubricant (XPL).
Alarm Temperatures Voltage <11.8 or >15.5 Temp >220 Transmission Temp >300 Pump Transmission >210 Oil Pressure <8
Tank Full Indicator Bottom 2 flash = 25% Rapid down chase = almost empty
