| - In order to pass the examination, a candidate must: | 1) Obtain a general average of at least 75% on the written test with no rating below 50% in any of the major subjects 2) Not failed in at least 60% of the subjects computed according to their relative weights |

| Section 21. | Issuance of Certificate of Registration |
| - Every applicant that passed the required examination for medical technologists shall be issued a certificate of registration provided that the applicant has/is: | 1) Attained the age of 21 years 2) Paid the required application fee of PHP 115 |
| - Moreover, the certificate of registration must be: | 1) Signed by members of the Board and the Commissioner of the Professional Regulation Commission 2) Displayed in the place where they work |
| - The Board shall also issue a certificate of registration as medical laboratory technician without examination provided that applicant has/is: | ) Paid the required application fee of PHP 50 2) Passed the civil service examination for medical technician given on March 21, 1964 3) Finished a 2-year college course and at least 1 year of experience as medical laboratory technician |
