Impeachment N / to charge with a crime or misconduct. specifically : to charge (a public official) before a competent tribunal (as the U.S. Senate) with misconduct in office.
Incitement N / the act of encouraging someone to do or feel something unpleasant or violent
Insurrection N. an act or instance of rising in revolt, rebellion, or resistance against civil authority or an established government
riot N. a violent disturbance of the peace by a crowd.
prosecution N / the lawyers in a court case who represent the side that accuses someone of committing a crime:
trial N/ the hearing of statements and showing of objects, etc. in a law court to judge if a person is guilty of a crime or to decide a case or a legal matter:
claim V. to say that something is true or is a fact, although you cannot prove it and other people might not believe it:
mob N. a large, angry crowd, especially one that could easily become violent:
allege V. to say that someone has done something illegal or wrong without giving proof
contend V. to say that something is true or is a fact.
accountable ADJ. Someone who is accountable is completely responsible for what they do and must be able to give a satisfactory reason for it.
lawsuit N / a problem taken to a law court by an ordinary person or an organization rather than the police in order to obtain a legal decision:
hearing N/ an official meeting that is held to gather the facts about an event or problem:
allegation N / a statement, made without giving proof, that someone has done something wrong or illegal
attorney N/ a lawyer
to infringe V / to break a rule, law, etc.
appeal N/ a request made to a court of law or to someone in authority to change a previous decision:
conviction N/ the fact of officially being found to be guilty of a particular crime, or the act of officially finding someone guilty:
to award / grant custody to to give someone the legal right or duty to care for someone, especially a child, after its parents have separated or died:
to sue V / to take legal action against a person or organization, especially by making a legal claim for money because of some harm that they have caused you:
embezzlement N / the crime of secretly taking money that is in your care or that belongs to an organization or business you work for:
money laundering N/ the crime of moving money that has been obtained illegally through banks and other businesses to make it seem as if the money has been obtained legally
perjury N /the crime of telling lies in court when you have promised to tell the truth:
trespass / trespassing to go onto someone's land or enter their building without permission:
rebuttal N / a statement that says that something is not true:
warrant N /an official document, signed by a judge or other person in authority, that gives the police permission to search someone's home, arrest a person, or take some other action:
undercover (police / cop) working secretly using a false appearance in order to get information for the police or government:
constituency N / one of the official areas of a country that elects someone to represent it in a parliament or legislature:
Bill N / a formal statement of a planned new law that is discussed before being voted on:
