| Acidic Solution | A solution in which [H+1] is greater than [OH-1] |
| Basic Solution | A solution in which [H+1] is less than [OH-1] |
| Neutral Solution | Any aqueous solution in which [H+1] and [OH-1] are equal |
| Conjugate Acid-Base Pair | Consists of two ions or molecules related by the loss or gain of one hydrogen ion |
| Conjugate Acid | The ions or molecule formed when a base gains a hydrogen ion |
| Conjugate Base | The ions or molecule that remains after an acid loses a hydrogen ion |
| Neutralization Reaction | The complete reaction of a strong acid and a strong base produces a neutral solution |
| Titration | The process of adding a measured amount of a solution of known concentration to a solution of unknown concentration |
