What are Significant Figures? Significant figures pertain to the digits or figures that are certain to give reasonably reliable information. Significant figures are helpful in attaining a level of certainty when expressing a calculated quantity.
Which rule in determining significant figures is rule no.1? All nonzero digits (1 to 9) are significant
Which rule in determining significant figures is rule no.2? Zeros to the left of the first nonzero digit are not significant
