Artery blood vessel that carries blood away from the heart
Vein blood vessel that carries blood to the heart
Capillaries smallest blood vessels, they are the site of oxygen and carbon dioxide exchange and supply nutrients and medications to the body’s cells.
Myocardial infarction heart attack
Arteriosclerosis hardening of the arteries
Atherosclerosis plaque build up in arteries than can eventually block the artery
Angina pectoris chest pain caused by a lack of oxygen to the heart
Cardiac arrhythmia the heart beating at an abnormal rate or in an abnormal pattern
Coagulation process of clotting to prevent blood loss
Platelets blood cells integral to the clotting process
Thrombus blood clot inside
Return-to-stock prescription that a patient did not pick up, can be returned to pharmacy since it never left the pharmacy.
A-fib atrial fibrillation, a type of cardiac arrhythmia
TIA transient ischemic attack (mini-stroke)
DVT deep vein thrombosis
PIC Pharmacist In Charge (the head pharmacist)
