Unit 4: Geometry
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Adjacent angles | Angles in the same plane that have a common vertex and a common side |
| Complementary angles | Two angles whose measures add to 90 degrees. |
| Congruent angles | Angles that have the same measure. |
| Cross section | The intersection of a three dimensional figure and a plane. |
| Intersection | A point or a set of points common to two or more geometric figures. |
| Supplementary angles | Two angles whose measures add to 180 degrees. |
| Vertical angles | A pair of opposite congruent angles formed by intersecting lines. |
| Circumference | The distance around a circle. |
| Composite figure | A figure made up of simple geometric shapes. |
| Diameter | A line segment that passes through the center of a circle and has endpoints on the circle. |
| Radius | A line segment with one or more endpoints at the center of a circle. |
| Polygon | A closed plane figure with at least three straight sides and angles. Is regular only when all sides are congruent, and all angles are congruent. |
| Parallel Lines | Lines that lie in the same plane and are the same distance apart over their entire length. |
| Pi | The Greek letter is used to represent the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter. |
