| compunction | a slight guilty feeling about something you have done or might do |
| din | a loud, unpleasant, and prolonged noise |
| edict | an official order or proclamation issued by a person in authority |
| indiscretion | behavior or speech that is indiscreet or displays a lack of good judgment |
| perquisites | another term for perk; a thing regarded as a special right or privilege enjoyed as a result of ones position |
| sepulcher | a small room or monument, cut in rock or built of stone, in which a dead person is laid or buried |
| suppliant | a person making a humble plea to someone in power or authority |
| tumult | a loud, confused noise, especially one caused by a large mass of people; confusion or disorder |
| marauding | going about in search of things to steal or people to attack |
