| Linear Quadratic System | a system of equations involving linear and quadratic equations. |
| Discriminant | b²-4ac, tells the number of solutions. |
| Completing the Square | the process of adding (b/2)^2 to ax^2 + bx. |
| Radical Expression | any expression containing a radical. |
| Zero Product Property | for all real numbers a and b, if ab=o then a =0 or b=0. |
| Standard Form of a Quadratic Equation | an equation of the form ax² + bx + c=0. |
| Complex Number | a number of the from a+bi where a and b are real numbers and i is an imaginary number (c). |
| Square Root Function | a function of the form f(x)=√ x. |
| Average Rate of Change | the average rate one quantity changes with respect to another. |
| Cube Root Function | a function of the form ∛ x. |
| Domain | the set of all possible inputs for a function. |
| Range | the set of all possible outputs for a function. |
| Composite Functions | when the rules of one function are applied to another function. |
