Words of the Week 4

TermDefinition
twice (adverb) two times. "She ran the path twice today."
knife (noun) tool used to cut things. "I have a good steak knife to cut my meat."
strike (verb) hit with a lot of strength. "He had to strike the door to break it open."
bright (adjective) reflecting a lot of light. "The light coming from that room is very bright."
light (noun) something that makes vision possible. "We saw light coming from the basement.
knight (noun) armored man who served a ruler. "The knight had a silver armor."
why (adverb) for what reason. "Why are you leaving?"
retry (verb) to try again. "You should retry the math problem."
shy (adjective) being reserved. "She was so shy that she rarely talked to anyone in the class."
tries (verb) to make an attempt. "He tries hard in every game."
cried (verb) to shed tears out of sadness. "She cried all night and her eyes were red."
dried (verb) lack of wetness. He dried the baby with the pink towel."
kind (adjective) gentle and good nature. "She is selfless because she has a kind heart."
remind (verb) make someone think of something. "Please remind me that I have to buy sugar."
child (noun) a young human under 12 years old. "I don't like to see that child cry."
