Math
Additive pattern | A pattern that occurs when a constant non zero value is added to an input value to determine the output value (y=x+a) |
X-axis | The horizontal number line on rectangle coordinate system |
X-coordinate | The value on the x-axis that is used to locate a point on the coordinate graph, it is the first value in an ordered pair |
Numerical pattern | A list of numbers that follow a certain sequence |
Quadrant | Any of the four areas created by dividing a plane with an x-axis and y-axis on a rectangular coordinate system |
Ordered pair of numbers | Two numbers used to locate a point on a coordinate plane; the first number tells how far to move horizontally and the second number tells how far to move vertically |
Multiplicative pattern | A pattern that occurs when a constant non-zero value is multiplied by an input value to determine the output value (y=ax) |
Y-axis | The vertical number line on a rectangular coordinate system |
Y-coordinate | The value on the y-axis used to locate a point on the coordinate graph; it is the second value in an ordered pair |
Coordinate plane | A plane spanned by the x-axis and y-axis in which the coordinates of a point are its distances from two intersecting perpendicular axes; also called Cartesian plane, Cartesian coordinate system |
Graph | A visual representation of the relationships between data collected |
