composite figure a figure that can be divided into two or more basic shapes
radius the distance from the center of the circle
diameter the distance from one endpoint to another that passes through the center of a circle
pi the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter
area of a circle A = pi(radius squared)
area of a rectangle A = (base)(height)
area of a triangle A=half of base times height
area of a trapezoid A = half (base one plus base two)(height)
