F&M LT#1-3 - Motion
Motion, Speed, Velocity, Acceleration
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Motion | When an object changes position over time. |
| Speed | The rate at which an object moves (or changes position). |
| Average Speed Equation | The distance traveled divided by the time taken to travel that distance. |
| Velocity | The speed of an object in a particular direction (reference direction). |
| Acceleration | Any change to velocity (speed up, slow down, turn). |
| Fast / Slow | Takes less time to travel the distance Takes more time to travel the distance |
| Distance | The measure of how far something has traveled (ex. meters, centimeters, kilometers). |
| Time | The measure of how long something as traveled (ex. hour, minute, second). |
| Constant Speed | When an object travels that same distance over the same period of time. |
| Acceleration Equation | The change in velocity (speed) divided by the time to make the change in speed. |
