tenant farmers | people who paid rent,either in money or crops,to grow crops on another person's land. tenant farmers in ancient greece were called thetes. |
democracy | a form of government of which people elect a person to control the country |
citizenship | an idea first promoted in Athens.Members in a community are given both rights and responsibility |
direct democracy | style of democracy that works well for small populations. each vote counts |

corinthian helmet | took it's name from the citystate of corinth. it was made of bronze which in its later styles covered the entire head and neck, with slits for eyes and mouth. |
