Words of the Week 1

TermDefinition
place (noun) a specific position in space. Ex.: "The church is a peaceful place."
shake (noun) mixed drink usually with fruits and milk. Ex.: "I made a strawberry shake as a snack."
locate (verb) to find something or someone. Ex.: "We need to locate that book."
trail (noun) a path to walk through. Ex.: "Walk along the trail to not get lost."
wait (verb) stay where one is or delay an action. Ex.: "I had to wait for two hours."
paint (verb) apply color to something. Ex.: "Dad has to paint the house this summer."
gray (adjective) color between white and black. Ex.: "Mom bought gray curtains for the living room."
tray (noun) flat platform to move many objects at the same time. Ex.: "I got a silver tea tray."
spray (verb) apply liquid in the form of a shower of tiny drops. Ex.: "We have to spray the plant lightly."
weigh (verb) find out how heavy something is using scales. Ex.: "Weigh yourself every morning before eating."
sleigh (noun) a sled pulled by animals. on snow Ex.: "We traveled on the snow using my dad's sleigh."
vein (noun) part of the circulatory system where blood flows. Ex.: "I can see that vein through my skin."
break (verb) separate into pieces because of a shock. Ex.: "You will break the vase if you keep playing there."
steak (noun) a piece of beef. Ex.: "I like my steak cooked well done."
great (adjective) good above normal. Ex.: "That park ride was great."
