Pre-Algebra Chapter 5 Vocabulary

TermDefinition
System of Equations a set of two or more equations with the same variables
Solution of a System a point (x, y) that makes every equation true
System with no Solution a set of equations whose graph is two parallel lines
Substitution replacing one variable with an expression to solve for the remaining variable
System with Infinitely Many Solutions a set of equations whose graph is the same line
System with One Solution a set of equations whose graph shows two lines intersecting at one point
