Pre-Algebra Chapter 4 Vocabulary

Slope rate of change, rise/run, y2-y1/x2-x1
Slope-Intercept Form a linear equation in the form y=mx+b
y-intercept starting value, represented by b in an equation
Rise the change in y-value between any two points on a line
Run the change in x-value between any two points on a line
Proportional when there is a constant ratio between two quantities
Origin the center point (0,0) on the coordinate plane where the x and y axes meet
