2. How did the Korean War begin? 2. when the Soviet Union and the United States divided Korea into two sections, tensions grew. When the Soviet Union and the US withdrawled their forces, Korea stayed divided, and hell broke loose. North Korea invaded South Korea, starting a war.
3. How did American goals change during the course of the Korean War? 3. the original goal was to defend south korea and stop communistic spread-- changed to invade north korea
4. Do you think Truman should have allowed MacArthur to attack China? Why or why not? 4. I agree with Truman. If he would allow MAcArthur to attack China, using bombs or not, the Korean war wouldve ended up being a bigger fight than just a battle within a country.
5. Provide two reasons for the Korean War ending in a stalemate. 1. it seemed as though the two sides were evenly matched and that there could be no possible winner
2. the casualties were very high
