What does it mean to factor? Break apart an expression or equation into two or more terms
Name the three types of factoring quadratic equations. Grouping, Square Root, Quadratic Formula
What is an equation An algebraic sentence that shows that two quantities are equal (have an equal sign)
What is a solution? A value that, when substituted for a variable in an equation, makes the equation true
What is an expression? A mathematical phrase that combines operations, numbers, and/or variables
When do you use PEMDAS? To remember the order of operations: parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction.
How do you know if an expression/equation is in Standard form? The variable exponents values are in descending order.
Slope-Intercept Form y=mx + b
Point-Slope Form y-y1= m(x-x1)
When factoring, you should always see if there is a _____? GCF
How do you 'combine like terms?' Add together numbers or terms with identical variable parts
