Chemistry

QuestionAnswer
Ion An atom of group of atoms that have a total positive or negative charge
Isotope A vision of an atom describing by its mass number
Atomic The mass of a single atom, closest to the number of positive plus neutrons, but still different, except in case of carbon -12
Atomic weight/AVG.atomic mass. An average mass for an element that takes into account how many of each isotope is present in a neutral sample?
Atomic number A number that matches the number of protons in element has, and also identifies the element
Charge The number of protons minus the number of electrons (difference between + and - particles)
Valence electrons Electrons in the highest energy level
electrons A negatively charged subatomic particle
Nuclear The Center area ( could be for an atom or a cell)
Particles Any small part of a large object or sample
Mass number The number of protons plus neutrons
Lauren has only two natural isotopes boron 10 in boron 11 use the periodic table to describe which of the two isotopes is more common in neutral sample. Justify your answer in a neutral sample. Boron 11 is more common because 10.81 is a lot closer to 11 then 10 so born 11 is more common because it’s closer to 10. 81.
Pick one model of an atom comin Shawnee in The textbook chemistry classes, etc give me the name of the boron, cloud didn’t explain the strength of the Mama and some problems with the model two of each Bohr-it is much clearer, and it shows you where to go Cloud-it’s more according to where they are and it’s not really easy to understand
Which of the following elements has only three valence electrons CS B S N B
What is a spectrum circle one A collection of points in a range
Describe two small like molecules of the atom and explain how they could be Protons and neutrons should be heavier or lighter The distance could be more greater
