Algorithm A step-by-step procedure for solving a problem or making a decision, especially via computer
Echo chamber Any forum for communication in which all members agree with everyone else
Bias An unfair inclination toward a majority based on the perception of a minority
Confirmation bias A bias that reinforces what one already believes; does not challenge one's beliefs; occurs in an echo chamber
Clickbait Content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page
filter bubble A situation in which an internet user encounters only information and opinions that conform to and reinforce their own believes, caused by algorithms that personalize an individuals online experience
