Q: What is the main function of the parasympathetic nervous system? Rest and digest; slows heart rate and promotes relaxation.
Which gland is known as the “master gland”? The pituitary gland.
What hormone does the pancreas release to lower blood glucose? Insulin
What is the primary function of red blood cells? To transport oxygen and carbon dioxide
Q: What is the SA node’s role in the heart? It acts as the natural pacemaker of the heart
Where does gas exchange occur in the lungs? The alveoli.
What is peristalsis? Wave-like muscle contractions that move food through the digestive tract
What is the function of the large intestine? Absorbs water and forms feces.
What type of joint is the shoulder? A ball-and-socket joint.
What is the primary function of smooth muscle? Involuntary movement in organs like the stomach and intestines.
