What are the 3 parts to the cell theory? All organisms are made up of cells. Cells are the basic unit of life. All cells come from other preexisting cells
What did Robert Hooke discover? He used a microscope and observed box-like compartments that reminded him of a monastery cell.
What did Anton Van Leeuwenhoek discover? Advanced the microscope observed bacteria looked @ red blood cells
What did Schleiden discover? All plant tissues are made up of cells
What did Schwann discover? All animal tissues are made up of cells.
What did Virchow discover? Cells come from the division of other existing cells Disproved spontaneous generation.

What is homeostasis? keeping conditions inside the organism balanced
Where do cells come from? Previously existing other cells
What are our two types of cells we talked about? Prokaryotic and Eukaryotic
Which cell appeared first? Prokaryotic
What are the 4 similarities between prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells? They both have DNA, cytoplasm, cell membrane and ribosomes.
What does unicellular mean? Made of one cell
What does multicellular mean Made of multiple cells
What are examples of Prokaryotic organisms? E. coli Strep throat bacteria Streptomycin
What are examples of Eukaryotic organisms? Tree Human Dog Fungi
Which type of cell does not have a nucleus? Prokaryotic
Which type of cell can be both multicellular and unicelluar? Eukaryotic
What is reproduction? Producing offspring
The prefix "Eu" and suffix "kary" mean what? True nucleus
The prefix "Pro" and the suffix "Kary" mean what? Before nucleus
Where is the DNA located in prokaryotic vs eukaryotic cells? Pro- in the cell membrane Eu- in the nucleus
