|---|---|
| P(A) meaning? | The probability that event A happens |
| P(A') meaning? | The probability that event A doesn't happen |
| P(AnB) meaning? | The probability that event A and event B both occur |
| P(AUB) meaning? | The probability that event A or event B occurs |
| P(B l A) meaning? | The probability that event B occurs given that event A occurs |
| What is long run relative frequency? | This means repeating an experiment over and over again so we can identify the pattern that occurs. |
| What is experimental probability ? | The probability of an event occurring based on an actual experiment |
| What is theoretical probability? | The probability of an event occurring based on math theory |
| What is true probability? | Often unknown due to other factors |
| What is conditional probability? | The probability that one event happens given that another event has occurred. |
| What is the simplified version of X & Y independence equation? | Var(X+Y)=Var(X)+Var(Y) |
| How do we calculate P(AUB)? | =P(A)+P(B)-P(AnB) |
| What are the two equations for mutually exclusive? | P(AUB)=P(A) + P(B) P(A n B) = 0 |
| What is the independence equation? | P(A n B) = P(A) x P(B) |
