Patterns, reasonable, rule

| Equation | a mathematical statement that uses an equal sign to show that the two expressions have the same value |
| Distributive property | when one of the factors of a product is written as a sum, multiplying each addend by the other factor before adding does not change the product. For example, 3 x 12= (3 x 10)+(3 x 2) |
| Factor | a number that is multiplied |
| Factor Pair | two numbers that are multiplied together to give a product, also used to determine if a number is prime or composite |
| Unknown | the value you need to find to solve a problem |
| Rule | a procedure that is followed to go from one number or shape to the next in the pattern |
| Pattern | a series of numbers or shapes that follow a rule to repeat or change |
| expression | a group of one or more numbers, unknowns, and/or operation symbols that represent a quantity without an equal sign |
| Remainder | the amount left over that cannot be divided evenly by the divisor |
| Reasonable | something that makes sense when given facts are taken into account |
