| polygon | A closed plane figure formed by three or more segments. |
| Diagonal | A segment that connects two non-consecutive vertices |
| Perimeter | The sum of the lengths of the sides of a polygon |
| Area | The number of unit squares a polygon encloses |
| Addition Property of Equality | If a = b, then a + c = b + c |
| Subtraction Property of Equality | If a = b, then a - c = b - c |
| Multiplication Property of Equality | If a = b, then ac = bc |
| Division Property of Equality | If a = b and b doesn't equal 0, then a/c = b/c |
| Substitution Property of Equality | If a = b, then b can be substituted for a in any expression. |
| Distributive Property | a(b + c) = ab + ac |
| Reflexive Property of Equality | a = a |
| Symmetric Property of Equality | If a = b, then b = a |
| Transitive Property of Equality | If a = b and b = c, then a = c |
| Vertical Angles | Angles whose sides are opposite rays |
| Adjacent Angles | Angles with a common vertex, a common side, and no common interior points. |
| Vertical Angle Theorem | Vertical Angles are Congruent. |
| Congruent Supplement Theorem | If two angles are supplements of the same angle or of congruent angles, then the angles are congruent. |
